There are five placement types to choose from when adding a new placement in Karmly - Contractor, Labour Hire, Permanent, Service Fee and Credit Note. Each placement type has a slightly different set of behaviours and available fields.
Contractor - Contractor-type placements are for standard temp and contract placements where the Resource(s) will be recording their own hours or days worked in the timesheets. The placement will have a Period specified (start and end dates), a client bill rate per hour or day, and a pay rate per Resource.
You can add as many different Work options as the candidate(s) will need to record their time against.
Labour Hire - Labour Hire type placements are for placements where the candidate won't be recording their own time (i.e. a consultant or administrator will manage time on their behalf). If you invite the Resource to join Karmly, they won't be able to record timesheets for this type of placement. Otherwise, these placements behave the same as Contractor placements.
Permanent - Permanent placements are for fixed one-off placement fees when you place a candidate in a permanent role. A Resource must be included in the Team in order for the Permanent fee to be billable. Time can't be recorded against Permanent placements, and the fee will be charged once only, when invoices are generated which cover the Placement Date specified.
Only one Work can be added to each Permanent placement, and it must have the Units set to '$ Expense | Fee'.
Service Fee - Service Fees are one-off fixed fees for other services provided to clients. These behave like Permanent placements for the most part, but don't require a Resource in the Team to be considered billable.
Credit Note - Credit Notes are for applying one-off lump sum credits. This would generally only apply to permanent fees being credited, as any timesheet issues should usually be corrected in order to keep proper track of margin.
